Calculate Via Parameters
In SimPCB Lite, you can perform lossless calculations of vias.

The lossless calculation type allows you to compute the characteristic impedance and secondary parameters of vias based on known geometric and electrophysical via settings.

The following calculation modes are supported:
- Single calculation – Calculates the characteristic impedance and secondary parameters of a via.
- Parametric sweep – Calculates via parameters at varying values of a selected sweep parameter. The sweep parameter is defined by a range of values and a step.
Calculations are identified by names in the Projects panel. The names are generated according to the following templates:
- Single calculation – The name includes the calculated characteristic impedance (Zo). Example:
Zo=51.344 Ohm. - Parametric sweep – The name includes the range of calculated characteristic impedance values, the range of values of the input variable parameter, and the step of this parameter. Example:
Zo=64.7438...45.6891 Ohm, Dv=0.1;0.2;0.01 mm.
